NOVEL

Taking Apart Marigold Hart

When Marigold Hart’s memory begins to fail, she realises that the only way to preserve her story is to take it apart, piece by fragmented piece. Only when she puts it back together, will it begin to make sense. Serial killings, lies, betrayal, ghosts and even buried treasure. All will be dissected and inspected, as you, Take Apart Marigold Hart.

NOVEL

Tiger Moth

Set in the backwater town of Marydale, TIGER MOTH weaves together the lives of two families. The McAlisters have farmed on the wheat belt for generations. Their quiet lives are rocked by the arrival of a family with a dark past, who move into a newly vacant rental on the outskirts of their property. TIGER MOTH is a story of friendship and resilience. When their two worlds collide, the families must find courage and overcome adversity within the safety of friendship. Just as the tiger moth undergoes a metamorphosis within its cocoon, so too do the characters of this book.

 Short Story

Water Baby

Inspired by true events in her life, Water Baby is a piece of highly commended biographical prose, in which White explores her idyllic first four years of life on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. It takes a tragic turn as she is forced to navigate catastrophic events that will serve as a catalyst for an abrupt change of direction in her young life.

This story is rich in lyrical verse and imagery. It was published in The ADAS anthology, by The Willy Lit Fest, 2024.

 Short Story

Tidepool

Tidepool was one of ten stories shortlisted for the Tasmanian Writer’s Prize, 2024. This story follows the path of Ruth, a confused and troubled woman who seeks comfort in the tidepools of her youth. The raw dialogue in this story sits in stark juxtaposition to the lyrical musings of Ruth’s inner world.

Winners for this competition will be announced in February 2025. The Shallows will be published in The Minds Shine Bright Anthology in April 2025.
